Our Approach

At the Immigrant Welcome Network of Johnson County, we understand that the journey of resettlement can be daunting for newly arrived immigrant families and low-income individuals. That’s why we offer a comprehensive range of programs and services designed to provide holistic support and empower individuals to thrive in their new communities.

Temporary Housing

We provide temporary housing solutions to ensure individuals and families have a safe and stable place to reside during their transition.

Community Resource Connections

Our team assists newcomers in navigating the complexities of their new environment by connecting them with essential resources and services, including healthcare, education, legal support, and more.

Employment Assistance

We offer job readiness classes, resume workshops, and job placement assistance to help individuals secure meaningful employment opportunities.

Permanent Housing Support

We advocate for affordable housing options and provide support throughout the rental application process, ensuring that individuals can access safe and sustainable housing.

Empowerment Programs

Through our job readiness classes,ESL courses, and Leadership classes, we empower individuals with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their new community.

Advocacy Initiatives

We advocate for systemic change and policy reforms to address issues such as affordable housing, tenant rights, and immigration policy, amplifying the voices of immigrants and low-income individuals.

Mentorship Program

Our mentorship program matches newcomers with experienced mentors from the community who provide guidance, support, and encouragement for 6-12 months. Mentors not only help newcomers navigate the complexities of resettlement but also assist in developing leadership skills, empowering individuals to advocate for themselves and others within their community.
