About Us

Founded in February 2023, the Immigrant Welcome Network of Johnson County (IWNJC) was born from a shared vision of empowerment and solidarity among immigrants, refugees, and passionate Iowans. Led by a diverse group of founders and board members, many of whom are immigrants and refugees themselves, our organization is deeply rooted in the belief that the best solutions arise from those directly affected by the challenges.

Since our establishment, we’ve been committed to creating pathways to stability, opportunity, and empowerment for newly arrived immigrant families in Johnson County. With a focus on building bridges and fostering understanding, we strive to amplify the voices and experiences of immigrant and refugee communities, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.
